Open edition canvas print by iconic indigenous New Zealand Māori artist, Robyn Kahukiwa of the Ngāti Porou and Te Aitanga a Hauiti tribes of Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Featuring one of her most recent works 'Whaea/Mother 2016'.
"My artwork 'Whaea/Mother' depicts the universal theme of mother and child (children) with reference to whakairo Māori (Māori carved figures) with a background based on tukutuku (woven flax panels). Both of these Māori artforms are found in our traditional Whare Tupuna (meeting houses). The pattern I have chosen is Ngā Whetu (the stars) which refers to many descendants."
